The Montessori learning method proposes that children develop and strengthen each of their learning processes through their own experience and initiative, where the adult is the one who provides the materials and spaces.

For children to learn properly, they must begin by being interested in what the letters sound like and not in what they are called; playing to break words is an excellent alternative. After completing this stage, children learn the letters by manipulating them, drawing them on different surfaces, relating them and textures.

When children can identify letters through sounds, they are ready to begin with grammatical processes with images’ help. Children require the accompaniment of an adult in this process that can be long and difficult.

CHANGES FOR CHILDREN YOUNGER THAN 4

This alphabet activity for preschoolers can be carried out with younger children. The difficulty level is reduced by allowing children to make some consonants strokes over the egg basket with flour, guided by an adult. In this way, an activity will be carried out according to their development and abilities.
