Tactile sensory stimulation is essential for children as it is one of the first senses developed in all children, and it is active before birth. The sense of touch is vital for children and allows them to recognize their environment.
Young children learn about the world through touch. When children can manipulate various objects, they learn about textures, shapes, sizes, and temperatures.
Sensory stimulation has a fundamental objective: to activate children’s brain through direct contact with the environment using each of the senses (hearing, sight, smell, touch, and taste).
Neural connections are formed from the information that arrives as perceived by the senses; this information can come consciously or unconsciously. That’s why it is essential to ensure that children have environments that allow them to develop each one of their abilities.
Maria Montessori related children’s brains to a sponge since it absorbs all the environment’s stimuli unconsciously and with joy. The child’s mind is infinite; therefore, adults must prepare their child’s surroundings to take advantage of the stimuli to develop his/her abilities. As Montessori named it, this prepared environment must be designed so that children autonomously interact with each material.
The sense of touch is permanently active. That means that all the time, humans perceive different stimuli. The skin is the largest organ of the body and must be given the importance it deserves. Through massages, games, and baths, you can stimulate the little ones to strengthen their cognitive processes and help children with their emotional intelligence.

HOW TO DEVELOP THIS EASTER ACTIVITY FOR KIDS WITH CHILDREN OF OTHER AGES?
CHANGES FOR CHILDREN UNDER 2 YEARS OLD
This easter activity for kids can be done with younger children. To reduce the difficulty level, it is not necessary to change the materials. Children can freely arrange the eggs. You can give them a drawing without colored eggs so that children can accommodate the pom-poms according to their preference. In this way, children will carry out an easter activity appropriate to their development.
CHANGES FOR CHILDREN OVER 4 YEARS OLD
This easter activity for kids can be done with older children. To increase the difficulty level, the adult will have to change the printable for several egg baskets.
Each basket must be of a different color with a number in the center. The child has to arrange the number of pom-poms each basket indicates considering the pattern to follow, which, in this case, is the color and the number.
