Emotions are reactions that human beings have from the environment stimuli or our own body; thoughts, sensations, physiological reactions characterize them. Emotions are personal experiences that can determine our behavior in future situations.
We must help children to recognize and manifest their feelings and to know how to react when facing each one of these feelings. We shouldn’t try to avoid them because they protect us. I’ll give you an example, if we don’t feel fear, we don’t know when we could be in danger.
There are many emotions we can feel, but I will mention a few of them.
Joy, which is a pleasant sensation that a person or object can produce.
Sadness, which is a sensation related to the loss, real or imaginary.
Fear, which is a feeling that indicates we are in danger.
Anger, which is a feeling related to not achieving something desired.
Surprise, related to amazement or bewilderment in an unexpected moment,
Disgust, a dislike for something or someone.
These are the basic emotions that children must know and learn to handle, known as emotional intelligence. This ability is developed through learning and experience in everyday situations. Children often do not verbally express what they feel, so we must look for activities that allow them to express their feelings.

HOW TO CARRY OUT THIS FEELINGS AND EMOTIONS ACTIVITY WITH CHILDREN OF OTHER AGES?
CHANGES FOR CHILDREN UNDER 2 YEARS OLD
You can do this thanksgiving feelings and emotions activity with younger children. It is possible, at this age, they can’t identify emotions with images, but we can stimulate the sense of touch when playing to paste and remove images. We can also explain and imitate faces to show emotions we want to work with them.
CHANGES FOR CHILDREN OLDER THAN 4
It is necessary to increase the difficulty level to do this thanksgiving feelings and emotions activity with older children. For example, we will not consider those cards with emotions we made; children should represent different emotions using the foamy faces and tell us when they felt like that.
