The human being, by nature, is always in a constant search for success and perfection. However, it is prevalent to meet young people who, despite their age, bring ruin with them. In most cases, this problem has the same root, a life without limits and discipline. Nowadays, parents do not know how to educate in freedom and discipline, which dramatically affects children and society’s lives.
Discipline and education must always go hand in hand. When we educate children with love, rules, respect, freedom, and discipline, we form an adult capable of managing their independence and being useful to society.
We must educate children with love and discipline because they will be their behavior when they become teenagers. We must have in mind something fundamental when educating our children, and the faster we do it, the better it will be.
That means that we shouldn’t wait for the child to be older to give him/her an education in values or impose an authority figure or foster habits that were not worked on when he/she was little. If this education is not given in the first years of life, it will be tough to learn it later.
In this process, the adult must be patient because educating with discipline is not easy at all. However, its benefits are many. When the person is disciplined, he/she become a team player and relate in a better way with others. He/she knows how to listen and put into practice everything that benefits his/her own life. Discipline brings triumph to people’s lives because goals are not achieved without it.
With the Montessori learning method, the child develops discipline and perseverance through autonomous work like doing preschool winter crafts. The interests, abilities, and times of each one are respected. The adult’s job is to motivate children to finish any activity they set out to do, and discipline is essential to achieve this.
