Spring Flower Art Activities for Preschool Montessori Worksheets (4-6 Year Olds)

A world without color is unthinkable. When you see nature and flowers with their many beautiful colors, you can see a marvelous creation. Nature contains the best works of art you can find and a source of inspiration for many artists.

Everything that is observed is aesthetically made. Everything that exists in nature has a function, as well as the colors of flowers.

Flowers’ colors are due to genetic heredity. Two chemical substances are involved: carotenoids responsible for yellow, red, and orange colors; and anthocyanin in charge of pink, blue, and purple colors.

The flowers are dressed in these beautiful colors for a fundamental reason. It is for survival since these colors attract birds and bees who pollinate the flowers with their feet, passing from one to another.

Art is of great importance for the strengthening of children’s abilities. Through art, children develop coordination and precision in hand movements, stimulate the brain’s right hemisphere. It also enhances creativity, artistic sensitivity, aesthetics, affectivity, and cognitive processes such as creativity and colors and shapes identification.

Through their creations, children are expressing their feelings and releasing stress. The best way to stimulate and motivate children in all their creative processes is to interact and receive different stimuli as landscapes, museums, art galleries, and even in the home. That will undoubtedly enhance children’s creativity.

Paints of several colors
A piece of glass or acetate (Make sure it is not sharp anywhere so that children do not cut themselves)
A cardboard

ACTIVITY DEVELOPMENT

Before carrying out this art activity for preschool, it is crucial to make sure that the glass is not sharp to avoid an accident.

Step 1:

Add some drops of paint onto the cardboard.

Step 2:

Put the glass or acetate over the cardboard and push.

Step 3:

When the paint is dry, make a free drawing on it.
