The sense of touch is one of our most developed senses at birth. Through this, we can develop various skills that will allow us to feel comfortable in different situations. Most of us consider the sense of touch one of the most important human senses, and that’s why there are many ways, tools, and activities to develop it.

Today I will talk to you in a basic but very useful way to stimulate the sense of touch in children. It is by using water. Children love to play with water, and what a better way to do this kid friendly activity than taking into account children’s preferences.

Stimulate children using water brings lots of benefits. This method is even used with children with special learning needs. No matter if they are in a pool or not, playing with water will relax them and make them fun while developing their motor skills.

With each kid friendly activity we carry out with our children, they will learn something new. In this case, children will learn a bit about myflower culture and use their mouth and tongue to develop their fine motor skills.

MATERIALS

Paper boats (previously made)
Water
Straws
A big container

ACTIVITY DEVELOPMENT

Step 1:

Add water to the container,then place the boats into the water and blow through the straws to help the boats navigate.

HOW TO CARRY OUT THIS KID FRIENDLY ACTIVITY WITH CHILDREN OF OTHER AGES?

CHANGES FOR CHILDREN UNDER 4 YEARS OLD

You can do this kid friendly activity with younger children. To make it easier, we can use a sponge and avoid the boat to sink. Children can still use the straws to move the boat because the sponge is not a heavy item.

CHANGES FOR CHILDREN OLDER THAN 6

It is necessary to increase the difficulty level to do this activity with older children. For example, children can do the boat by themselves. This way, they will develop their hand and finger movements accuracy. They can also make a boat race to make it funniest.
