Many modern parents educate their children without limits for fear of falling into the error of authoritarian education that could stop children’s free development of personality. However, this is a huge mistake. An upbringing based on respect with reasonable boundaries will allow children to freely develop their character, autonomy, and social skills without going beyond their parents’ already generated limits.
Limits are necessary for a good education. It is a way to show a healthy love for our children. Through them, children learn about both their rights and duties. It is often not easy to remain in a NO answer, but it is needed because they always measure our weaknesses.
To handle children’s limits, the adult must be clear about what he/she says because he/she is the one who will teach the child. The adult should also communicate boundaries and rules positively so children will assimilate them in the right way.
The child must understand that rules must be respected because they make sense and are good for him/her, not just because an adult says so.
As in life, there are also limits when coloring. In terms of perfecting the technique, children must draw and color freely and spontaneously. When children color and try not to go beyond the limits, they get dexterity in hand and finger movements. That is known as fine motor skills.
Let children create new and magical things through their drawings. There is nothing impossible for them. Through their creations, they can achieve everything, so we allow children to create, play, and explore new materials, textures, and colors. Let us not limit any of their creative processes.
