Today there is a technique applied to correct behaviors, not only in children but also in adults. It is “The Sandwich Technique.” This technique is based on assertive communication.

There are two ways to change children’s behavior, criticism or praise. With the sandwich technique, the child’s behavior is adjusted with a positive stimulus. The idea is to capture children’s attention through a loving phrase and not a scream when it is observed that they are doing something that must change.

After having all their attention, positively speaking to them and letting them know that they could improve. Finally, positive reinforcement is given. That means that the action you want to change in your child will be in the middle of two praises, which is why it is known as the sandwich technique.

For this technique to work, you must consider the following: the message must reach the children clearly. Make sure children understand the request that is being made and do not threaten or criticize them.

Getting criticized can be quite annoying; However, this constructive criticism can become the perfect opportunity to modify that behavior using the correct words and form. It is essential to bear in mind that if you want children to be respectful and have good conduct, you must offer precisely the same to them.

The child has all the capacities to develop their learning autonomously, and the adult puts all their trust in it.

ACTIVITY DEVELOPMENT

Step 1:

Paint the bubble wrap with the paints using the index finger; he/she should paint it on the side with the bubbles.

HOW TO DEVELOP THIS EASTER ARTS AND CRAFTS ACTIVITY WITH CHILDREN OF OTHER AGES?

CHANGES FOR CHILDREN UNDER 1 YEAR

You can do this Easter arts and crafts activity with younger children. To reduce the difficulty level, you won’t need the children to use an egg drawing. They can freely paint the bubble wrap.

This Easter arts and crafts activity can be done with food coloring in case the children put their fingers in their mouths. The important thing is that children can perceive textures.

CHANGES FOR CHILDREN OVER 2 YEARS OLD

You can do this Easter arts and crafts activity with older children. To increase the difficulty level, you won’t need to change the materials. Children can develop the exercise independently, making various scribbles or drawings on the bubble wrap. In this way, a seasonal activity will be carried out appropriate to children’s development and abilities.
