Skeleton Craft Activities for Children

When I was a child, I always crafted for significant dates like Christmas, Mother’s Day, Halloween, etc. My mother used these crafts to decorate our house. However, nowadays, children ignoresuch activities. It has become less common to see them painting, drawing, or creating new things. Actually, a lot of kids no longer even run or interact with each other. This behavior is badly affecting children’s health and cognitive development.

Some research proves that making handicrafts is an activity that benefits children as it enhances creativity. Through the use of handicrafts, children can create incredible things while developing valuable skills.

Memory is essential because children must remember how the craft is made and then repeat it step by step. There is no doubt handicrafts stimulate fine motor skills and is a perfect way to strengthen family bonds.

The following skeleton craft preschool activity is about doing a Halloween skeleton. It is a good time to get children out of that virtual and inactive world they are in. Most of them love Halloween, so it’s the perfect time to create a fun decoration for the house. Let’s enjoy this time with our children and learn together.

Goal: Kids will enhance their creativity and fine motor skills by making a skeleton.

Level: Basic. This skeleton craft preschool activity was designed to be done in a self-paced environment with adult surveillance.

MATERIALS

Black foamie
White foamie
Scissors
Glue

ACTIVITY DEVELOPMENT

Step 1:

Use the white foamie to draw a skeleton with bones and separate body parts.

Step 2:

Cut the skeleton pieces apart and glue them to the black foamie.

Step 3:

After gluing the skeleton on the black foamie, cut the entire image out, leaving a black edge on it.

Halloween Craft Idea for Toddlers

This skeleton craft activity can be done with younger children. The skeleton must be previously cut, so they just have to glue the pieces onto the black foamie. An adult must give instructions and help children when they attempt something they have not yet mastered, like spread the glue or place the pieces.

CHANGES FOR CHILDREN OLDER THAN 4

Older children can do also do this skeleton craft activity. If they have the skills required to do the exercise, you can use some other materials such as glitter, paint, markers, and other items to help spice up the activity.
