When we talk about caring for the environment is recycling, one activity that seems to be the most fun for boys and girls. We can make a lot of games, crafts, musical instruments, and even toys through recycled material.
Boys and girls love to create, and through recycling, they can have fun giving life to countless characters. Additionally, they are generating awareness of caring for the environment. What’s more, sometimes they are the ones who remind adults of the importance of sorting waste at home.
It is very important that new generations have awareness and commitment to environmental care to generate better practices to reduce the impact of pollution and help combat the climate change that we are currently facing.
These recycling activities also allow girls and boys to grow in a society, being aware that others’ feelings and rights are important too. Additionally, their actions will have a positive or negative influence on the lives of each other.

WHAT MATERIALS DO WE NEED TO DEVELOP THE RECYCLING PIG EASY SCIENCE PROJECTS?
- Plastic bottle to reuse
- Four plastic caps
- Glue
- Card stock or construction paper
- Silicone (preferably liquid)
- Marker
ACTIVITY STEPS
Step 1:
Cut the card stock vertically in 2 halves.
Step 2:
Take one half of the cardboard that was cut previously and glue it around the bottle. This will represent the body of our little pig.
Step 3:
Take the 4 plastic caps and glue them on the pig’s body. These four lids will be piggy’s legs so make sure that they are located under the belly to support the little animal’s weight.
If you don’t have liquid silicone, seek an adult’s help to glue the pig’s legs with a hot silicone stick.
Step 4:
With the remaining half of the cardboard, draw your piggy’s ears. You can do the shape you want. If you want to make some kind of decoration, I recommend doing it before gluing the ears to the little pig’s head.
Remember to fold the bottom part of the ears, leaving space available to stick them on the bottle. Again, request the help of an adult if you are going to use the hot silicone.
Step 5:
Use the marker to draw your piggy’s eyes and nose; this way, you will have a pig from recyclable material. You can use your imagination and create more animals with the same materials.
