Parents often struggle nowadays to teach their children about good personal hygiene and help them develop these habits.
They often hear the words, “I do not want to bathe, I do not want to comb my hair, I do not want to cut my nails, I do not want to brush my teeth.”
Despite the challenge, we must teach our children the importance and benefits of learning self-hygiene.
It prevents a large number of diseases and discomforts, but also because through the habits that are acquired, they develop neural connections, motor skills are enhanced, self-esteem and autonomy are strengthened.
In the same way, the kids will learn how to manage the feeling of frustration. Remember that this is a process that takes time, and that not all children learn at the same speed.

- Food coloring (this is optional, only if you want your soap to have color)
- Salt
- Unflavored gelatin
- Stirrers
- Alcohol
- Warm water (with adult supervision).
- Molds
- A plastic container
- Glitter
- Paint
DEVELOPMENT OF THE SCIENCE EXPERIMENT ACTIVITY
Step 1:
We will add the powdered, unflavored gelatin to the plastic container. The amount of gelatin powder varies in the number of soaps that are going to be made.
After this, we will pour the warm water into the container and stir until the gelatin powder completely dissolves.
Step 2:
We add the essence and a little paint of the color you want in our already dissolved mixture. If we are going to make several different colored soaps, we can put a different paint color in each mold.
Step 3:
Pour the liquid soap or shampoo into the container, add ¼ teaspoon of salt, and mix.
Step 4:
Take the alcohol and add it into the mixture, stirring gently to eliminate all the bubbles generated by the soap. Then very carefully, pour the mixture into the molds. And finally, we put the glitter on top for decoration.
