When we play and experiment with our kids, we catch their full attention. That is why games and experiments are great instruments to teach new things to children. By doing, children create scenarios and hypothesis and finish the investigation to find an answer.
Children are the main players in their learning process, so experimenting involves active learning. This way, we ensure children actively participate and pay attention. Benefits that experiments bring are curiosity to learn about the unknown; motivation to actively participate in the activity’s adults propose; development of logical thinking; children learn to observe and explain.
Children are curious by nature. They learn from what they see and observe. That is why we must encourage them to experiment and guide them to realize the world around them. Nowadays, it is easy to do experiments with children without taking any risk.
We should consider children’s capabilities and preferences. Colors and textures are the first experiments we can carry out with them because they are eye-catching. Children can do them using materials we use daily.
