Fun Things to do at Home with Kids
By smell, we capture information from the external environment. Through this stimulus that we perceive, we define environments and foods that we like. Smells also allow us to identify dangerous situations, such as fire, damaged food, or something rotten.
But did you know that children initially do not discriminate from a good smell to a bad smell? This is something that is learned with time and stimulation.
The smell also has a close relationship with emotions. When we are hungry, the smells of food become very pleasant. Still, the opposite happens if we are already satisfied. The smell of food can even be annoying.
To stimulate the sense of smell capabilities of children, we have several options. However, play is one of the most effective to achieve these learnings. The activity that we will develop below will help children develop a sense of smell and memorize and identify the smells they are perceiving.
