Easy Easter Angel Craft for Kids Montessori Worksheets (4-6 Year Olds)

Each of the activities carried out with children always has a goal. Generally, what is sought is to develop children’s abilities, favoring their ability to learn. To ensure children have the total capacity and disposition to learn, you must also consider their diet. Through food, the energy necessary to carry out day-to-day tasks is acquired.

When children have adequate nutrition, their health is good; they have optimal growth, learning capacity, socialization, and adaptability. However, although many parents know the importance of good nutrition for children’s development and health, they continue giving sweet things to their children.

Today, parents and doctors have to deal with obesity at a very young age, which triggers very high glucose levels in the blood, causing diabetes, which will cause kidney problems and vision loss in the long term.

The consumption of sugar in children affects their health and affects their ability to learn. Fructose alters brain structures, specifically the hippocampus, which is in charge of memory, necessary for the acquisition and recall of new knowledge. That means that a child who consumes a lot of sugar will not have the same ability to learn as a child who does not consume sugar.

That is not to say that children can never taste candy, although it would be ideal not to have to. A child in good health who has good eating habits and foods with fructose is not included in his/her diet and can eat a sweet from time to time, which will not affect their health or ability to learn.

The best way to prevent your children from eating sweet things is not to give them a taste, at least in their first years of life. They will not miss those sweet things as they do not know their flavor, and you will be avoiding great harm.

It’s all a matter of habit. If children generate good eating habits, they will be able to live without sweets without any problem. They will be more receptive when it comes to consuming healthier foods such as vegetables.

MATERIALS

Two wings made with golden foamy (previously created)
A triangle made with silver foamy (previously created)
A circle made from bond/construction paper, which will be the angel’s face
A black marker
A tray
A paintbrush
A wooden stick
Glue in a container

ACTIVITY DEVELOPMENT

Step 1:

Spread the glue on the triangle using the paintbrush.

Step 2:

Take the wings and spread some glue on them.

Step 3:

Glue the wings in the triangle, which is the angel’s body.

Step 4:

Use the marker to paint a face in the circle.

Step 5:

Glue the angel’s face.

Step 6:

Glue the wooden stick to the back of the angel’s body as if it were a puppet.

HOW TO DEVELOP THIS ACTIVITY WITH CHILDREN OF OTHER AGES?

CHANGES FOR CHILDREN UNDER 4 YEARS OLD

You can do this angel craft activity with younger children. To reduce the difficulty level, you can give the children a drawing of an angel made in foamy with small Velcro pieces stuck to its body parts. That way will be easy for them to put together the angel’s body parts. In this way, children will carry out a kids activity appropriate to their development and abilities.

CHANGES FOR CHILDREN OVER 6 YEARS OLD

This angel craft activity can be done with older children. To increase the difficulty level, children can make the angel using geometrical figures. They should cut those figures. To do this, they must know about the geometrical figures and have strength in their hand and finger movements. In this way, children will carry out a craft activity appropriate to their development and abilities.
