Entertain kids with Dr. Seuss. The Dr. Seuss hat is a sensory play for preschoolers activity that will help exercise toddlers’ motor skills. Check out the step-by-step instructions below.
The best way to develop children’s learning is by allowing them to explore their environment. They acquire the necessary information with their senses and discover smells, sounds, shapes, textures, and temperatures. With these experiences, children form a mental representation of their reality; children learn, know, and discover the world with their bodies.
Children must have spaces to discover new things. However, each of the stimuli they perceive must be according to their age, development, and interests. Not all children need the same things or like the same things, and that is not bad. Although this process must be free and autonomous, the adult must ensure that it is carried out in a safe space and be present in each activity to help them when needed.
The game will always be one of the best alternatives for children to learn. Through this game, different materials can be included that help to stimulate all the senses. That is very important since all people learn and assimilate information in different ways. Some are more visual, others more auditory, some are more manipulative.
With sensory stimulation, children develop and enhance their senses and strengthen their affectivity and bond with the adult. That fosters self-confidence and will undoubtedly open the door to acquiring new knowledge and developing many useful skills for your life. In this process, the adult must make a loving accompaniment respecting the children’s interests and the learning rhythm.

HOW TO DEVELOP THIS SENSORY PLAY FOR PRESCHOOLERS ACTIVITY WITH CHILDREN OF OTHER AGES?
CHANGES FOR CHILDREN YOUNGER THAN 1
This sensory play for preschoolers activity can be done with younger children. To reduce the difficulty level, children can take each of the hats directly with their hands and pass them from one container to another. In this way, they will carry out a preschooler activity appropriate to children’s development and skills; an adult must be with them throughout the process.
CHANGES FOR CHILDREN OLDER THAN 2
This sensory play for preschoolers activity can be carried out with older children. To increase this activity’s difficulty level, you can add smaller objects inside the water container. This implies that children develop more remarkable skills and accuracy in their fingers and hands’ movements.
