Easy Music Crafts for Preschoolers

Age: 2 to 4 years old

Objective of the activity: Kids will learn how to make a maraca; they will also stimulate their sense of hearing.

Difficulty level: Medium. The preschool music activity is designed for children to carry out through imitation in an autonomous way.

WHAT MATERIALS DO WE NEED TO DEVELOP THE PRESCHOOL MUSIC ACTIVITY?

Materials Musical Autumn Preschool Music Activity

A cardboard toilet paper tube
A plastic jar
Colored beads
Duct tape (clear)
Painting

ACTIVITY DEVELOPMENT

Step 1:

Take the toilet paper tube and paint it using your favorite color.

Step 2:

While we wait for the tube to dry, insert the colored beads into the plastic jar using a finger grip with your index finger and thumb finger (under adult supervision)

Step 3:

Attach the toilet paper tube to the plastic jar using tape, and you will get a beautiful maraca.

MODIFICATIONS TO THIS PRESCHOOL MUSIC ACTIVITY

This preschool music activity can be done with younger children. It is not necessary to change the materials. However, more adult supervision will be required as a younger child may not be able to complete all the steps by themselves.

VIDEO DESCRIPTION

This preschool music video will show you the development of the activity “MUSICAL AUTUMN” with its result, for children of 2 to 4 years old.

The activity’s objective is to strengthen kids’ hearing and different development areas, such as fine motor skills, emotional intelligence, visual stimulation, and following directions.

Ideally, the children are in the company of an adult during the process. The adult is the one who exemplifies the activity, and the kids will develop it through imitation.

The materials used are a toilet paper tube, a plastic jar, colored beads, tape, and paint during the activity.
