The sense-organs play a significant role in children’s development. It is through them information is captured and processed in the brain. The senses work simultaneously; however, they are designed to perceive specific stimuli to understand the surroundings properly.
Sensory development contributes positively to learning since, through these activities, children activate their brains. Hence the importance of interacting with as many stimuli as possible; this will provide more experiences generating better neural connections.
The most important sensory organs in each child’s growth stage are the sense of taste and smell. The greater this variety, the more significant stimulation he/she will receive to expand the references in aromas and flavors. The combination of flavors will also allow children to be more receptive to trying different foods.
The sense of taste receives its first stimuli in the mother’s womb. From that moment, the child can perceive certain foods. However, when children begin to chew and drink, taste cells found on the tongue, the roof of the mouth, and the throat are released. That’s why children must try different foods to strengthen and properly develop their sense of taste.

HOW TO DEVELOP THIS SENSORY ACTIVITY FOR KIDS WITH CHILDREN OF OTHER AGES?
CHANGES FOR CHILDREN UNDER 2 YEARS OLD
This sensory activity for kids can be done with younger children.
