HOW TO DEVELOP THIS ACTIVITY WITH CHILDREN OF OTHER AGES?
CHANGES FOR CHILDREN UNDER 4 YEARS OLD
This easy kids science experiment activity can be developed with younger children. To reduce the difficulty level, you will not need to change the ingredients because it is an experiment. However, at this age, children most likely have not achieved sufficient strength or dexterity in their hands and fingers’ movements to grasp and move the weighty container. Make any changes needed to accommodate the child’s skill level. It is essential to be accompanied by an adult to prevent children from ingesting any of the ingredients. In this way, a preschooler science activity appropriate to the child’s development will be carried out.
CHANGES FOR BOYS AND GIRLS OVER 6 YEARS OLD
This easy kids science experiment activity can be done with older children. To increase the difficulty level, you can add more ingredients for them to mix. You can add more coloring and more water to observe if the density changes or not and the substances are mixed. This may involve using a larger holding container. In this way, a preschooler activity will be carried out according to the children’s development and abilities.
