Although all children develop their abilities differently, some characteristics are similar in their development. The absence of these skills can raise the alarm in parents or adults who are caring for children.

Children do not develop their skills, especially social ones, because they may be suffering from (ASD) Autism Spectrum Disorder. (It is important to clarifying that this characteristic is not a diagnosis).

When children have Autism, their development is different from that of other children since they have difficulty socializing with their peers. In the same way, language development is much more delayed. However, this physical development is entirely normal. Autism in children can be identified very early, usually before 24 months.

Not all children with ASD present the same symptoms nor the same intensity. However, these are the most common symptoms. In terms of the social dimension, children with autism cannot respond to their parents’ facial expressions or express themselves appropriately through their own facial expressions. They cannot keep eye contact with people nor feel empathy with other people.

Regarding his/her ability to communicate with others, a child with autism does not say single words at 16 months. Typically, they do not respond when calling him/her by name, cannot repeat what he/she hears from others, or have a conversation. They may lose social and language skills already acquired, which is known as regression. This is not an all-inclusive list.

Parents will always know how to identify different behaviors in their children, so if you determine unusual behavior, do not hesitate to consult an expert about this situation. Remember that the earlier the attention, the greater the benefit for the children.

Crafts offer different benefits in the development of children’s physical, cognitive and emotional skills. Children have the possibility of expressing their feelings in a non-verbal way, using other materials, and strengthening the ability to imagine and materialize their thoughts.

Yarn

Bond/construction paper strips

ACTIVITY DEVELOPMENT

Step 1:

Arrange the wooden sticks making a basket for the eggs and, with the paintbrush, spread the glue.

Step 2:

Glue the strips of bond/construction paper, intertwining them with the wooden sticks.

Decorate the eggs using the markers.

Take the yarn from the container, cut it out and stick it on the eggs as if it were grass.

Step 5:

Glue the eggs onto the basket.

HOW TO DEVELOP THIS EASY EASTER CRAFTS FOR KIDS ACTIVITY WITH CHILDREN OF OTHER AGES?

CHANGES FOR CHILDREN UNDER 4 YEARS OLD

This easy Easter craft for kids activity can be done with younger children. To reduce the difficulty level, you will need to change the materials. Here, children will use green bond paper, cardboard, markers, and glue.

Children can draw grass, cut it out, glue each end forming a circle, draw, decorate and cut the eggs, and finally arrange them on the grass. In this way, children will carry out an activity appropriate to their development and abilities.

CHANGES FOR CHILDREN OVER 6 YEARS OLD

This easy Easter craft for kids activity can be done with children over six years old. To increase the difficulty level, you won’t need to change the materials. Children can make a more elaborated craft using larger wooden sticks.

To make the basket’s handle, you can use yarn or fabric ribbons of various colors, intertwining them like braids. To carry out this activity, children need greater skill in the movements of their hands and fingers. In this way, children will carry out an exercise appropriate to their development and abilities.
