Even at a very early age, children go through different situations that lead them to feel all kinds of emotions. However, it is common to find adults who think that children do not experience the same range of feelings as older folks do. In a nutshell, children feel frustration, anxiety, sadness, fear, despair, joy, etc.
In younger children, fear and anguish usually appear when they must be apart from their parents and left in another person’s care. It is not wrong that children feel all these emotions. The problem occurs when they are already prevalent in children and become much more potent, such as depression, stress, or anxiety.
Children should feel supported and accompanied in each of their processes. This support is essential for children’s optimal emotional development and even more so if it is evident that children do not overcome their fears. These become something much more severe such as anxiety.
Children can express anxiety in different ways. Some may feel worried, fearful, irritated, and angry. Others manifest it physically with sleep loss, headache or stomach pain, loss of appetite, or simply not showing it. That occurs most of all in younger children who cannot yet express it verbally.
One of the best ways for children to release all those burdens is through art. To do this, they don’t have to be professional artists. Any creation made with their hands where the main ingredients are imagination and creativity is already a work of art. Through art, children freely express their feelings without fear of being pointed out or not understood. This practice also allows them to develop different skills that are very important for their physical and cognitive development.

HOW TO DEVELOP THIS ART IDEA FOR KIDS ACTIVITY WITH CHILDREN OF OTHER AGES?
CHANGES FOR CHILDREN UNDER 4 YEARS OLD
This art idea for kids activity can be done with younger children. To reduce the difficulty level, children can paint the clover directly with their hands; that way, they will have the opportunity to feel and identify the textures. However, children must be in an adult’s company to avoid eating the shaving foam and hurt themselves. In this way, a seasonal activity will be carried out according to the children’s development and abilities.
CHANGES FOR CHILDREN OVER 6 YEARS OLD
This art idea for kids activity can be done with older children. To increase the difficulty level, children can use different food coloring to mix with the shaving foam and paint each cloverleaf differently.
